The air bubbles contained in this film are thermal insulators, meaning they do not conduct heat or cold and limit excessive temperature variations. They create a favourable microclimate around a plant by allowing daylight to pass through, which will warm the surrounding atmosphere, while preventing it from cooling too quickly at night, for several hours. The bubble wrap acts in the same way as double glazing, which insulates the windows of a house. It also acts as a windproof barrier, which always exacerbates the damage caused by cold weather to fragile plants. Available in a width of 1 metre, it is suitable for protecting deciduous bushes on terraces or balconies, as well as young garden bushes. This film can be cut as needed, without affecting its performance. It can be used in a single or double layer, and secured with one or more strong ties. This product is not really suitable for protecting evergreen bushes, whose leaves continue to "breathe" in winter: such plants require air to be able to circulate around their leaves, even in winter, otherwise diseases and mould caused by condensation and excessive humidity may develop. If you still want to use this bubble film around your slightly sensitive evergreen bushes, remember to open the protection during the day when temperatures rise. Finally, this film is waterproof: if it completely covers your potted plant, remember to check the moisture level of its growing medium and water it if necessary.

This product is not the most effective for greenhouse insulation, but it still helps to limit the effects of cold in small greenhouses: always attach it inside the walls, possibly in multiple layers.

Directions for use This bubble wrap insulates plants from wind and cold, whether they are grown in containers, pots, or in the ground. Plants grown in pots that remain outside in winter are the most exposed to the cold, especially their roots, so they are more likely to freeze. Cut the necessary length to completely wrap your plant. Wrap the film around the plant and its pot, starting from the top and going down, even sliding it under the pot if possible. Cut a second piece if necessary to protect the pot, depending on the size of your plant. To keep the film in place, tie a string or cord around the base of the plant and around its pot. For shrubs planted in the ground, cover the entire plant down to the ground. Attention: This airtight film is not suitable for protecting evergreen plants and shrubs as they continue to breathe and release water through evapotranspiration, which creates condensation and encourages diseases. Bubble wrap insulation is very effective, you can wrap multiple layers around all terracotta pots that are left outside. This bubble wrap can also be used to insulate a small greenhouse to help it stay frost-free. Attach it to the inside walls, in multiple layers (at least 2).
