It is sometimes necessary to securely attach young trees to a stake, to protect them from damage caused by strong winds while they establish their roots, especially in loose soils (sandy, humus-rich, loamy) or wet soils. This synthetic foam collar is reinforced in part by an outer metal frame equipped with loops that allow a twisted wire to fasten it to the planting stake. The soft foam side comes into contact with the tree's bark. You can easily loosen or expand this tie to accommodate the trunk's growth.

Directions for use It is sometimes necessary to securely attach young trees to a stake to protect them from damage caused by strong winds while they establish their roots, especially in loose (sandy, humus-bearing, loamy) or moist soils. Place the stake at the time of planting to avoid damaging its roots. Position it near the trunk, facing the prevailing wind. Drive it deeply into the soil to ensure a good anchorage. Wrap the tie around the trunk, with the foam side in contact with the bark. The metal frame should be accessible and positioned opposite the stake. Pass the metal tie through the loops provided on the frame, then attach it to the planting stake by twisting the two spiralled strands together. You can easily undo or widen this tie to accommodate the trunk's growth in width.
