Our range of Pontederia, aquatic plants that are essential for the water garden. Among them, Pontederia cordata and Pontederia lanceolata, two species that stand out for their beauty and ease of cultivation. Among their most beautiful varieties are the 'Pink Pons' heart-shaped leaf Pontederia with pink flowers and P. cordata 'Blue Sapphire' with deep blue floral spikes. These perennial plants of wet environments produce clusters of blue, purple, mauve, or white flowers that attract pollinators and catch the gardener's eye.
Pontederia, often called water hyacinth, is an aquatic perennial that thrives at the edge of ponds and in wet areas. It is characterised by its broad leaves and spike-like flowers that proudly rise above the water. Easy to grow, Pontederia simply requires a sunny to semi-shady exposure and moist or submerged soil. Discover them on these pages, as well as all our pond perennials.
