The Abutilon, also known as Indian Mallow, is a perennial plant with evergreen foliage for warm climates. The exotic appearance of the foliage and colourful bell-shaped flowers make the Abutilon a highly decorative bush. Plant the Abutilon in warm climates in the ground, in a flower bed sheltered from winds and protected from direct sunlight. The Abutilon thrives in moist and well-drained soil. In other climates, grow the Abutilon in a pot using compost. Place it in a warm and sheltered spot from spring to early autumn, then move it to a cool, well-ventilated area protected from frost.
