Planting and care

Alliums are easy to grow. Preferably plant them before the end of October so that they have time to establish themselves properly. They do not do well in moist soils. Offer them a sunny spot in well-drained, even stony soil. Bury them at a depth of 10 or 15 cm (4 or 6in), spaced 15 cm (6in) apart for the larger ones, or a depth of 10 cm (4in), spaced 7 cm (3in) apart for the smaller bulbs. Undemanding, they prefer poor soils.
