Description

We offer you this Inspiration collection - Spring Bulbs at Twilight that will allow you to easily create an elegant spring scene in shades of white, purple, mauve, and violet. It combines three different varieties of tulips with muscari armeniacum, known for its small clusters of fragrant violet flowers. Between April and May, all these flowers create a beautifully blooming setting. You can plant the bulbs in a perennial bed or a large border.

This Collection consists of:

10 Tulips Triumph 'White Dream': an elegant and bright flower with a narrow corolla in pure white on top of a thick and sturdy stem of 40 cm. Blooms from April.

10 Tulips Triumph 'Purple Flag': a flower with a deep colour, a satin pinkish purple, on 45 cm stems. Blooms in April-May.

10 Tulips Triumph 'Flaming Flag': a sturdy triumph tulip, in contrast with its large and magnificent 6 cm flowers, white with light purple flames. It blooms in mid-April on a 50 cm tall stem, resistant to wind and rain.

100 Muscari armeniacum (bulbs size 6+): a small, hardy bulbous plant that naturalises easily. Its small, fragrant, violet-blue clusters, often edged with white, rise 20 cm above the ground. They appear in April-May.

Packed and labelled separately.

Plant your bulbs in autumn, in well-prepared soil, preferably in full sun. Plant the tulips in groups of at least 5 bulbs, 15 cm deep, spacing them 10 cm apart. Mix the colours or plant each variety separately. Interplant the muscari bulbs, which should be covered with 6 to 8 cm of soil. The tulips benefit from being planted among other plants that will hide the gaps once flowering is over: Chinese peonies and speedwells will perfectly fulfil this role. This selection can be planted in borders, flower beds, as well as in pots and containers. To enhance the dark side of this Spring Bulb Inspiration Twilight, complete the scene with a "black" tulip such as 'Vincent Van Gogh'.

Planting and care

Plant your bulbs as soon as possible in well-drained soil. Loosen the soil deeply. Plant the tulips 10-15 cm deep (Bulbs should be covered with twice their height of soil). The muscari bulbs will be planted slightly less deeply. Space the bulbs a few cm apart, making sure they do not touch each other. Choose a sunny location for better flowering. After flowering, cut the flower stalks and allow the leaves to dry completely before cutting them.
