Flowers in the second year, but not as much as shown in the photo. Prone to snails and slugs! Also, be careful with watering.

Description

Crinum Striped Beauty has strong, rigid stems, each bearing 12 to 15 lovely white flowers with dark pink stripes, in the shape of flared trumpets, measuring 12 to 15 cm (5 to 6in). Each plant produces 2 to 3 flower stems.

Their white flowers with dark pink stripes reach a diameter of 10 cm (4in).

The green foliage forms flexible straps that can reach over 1m (3ft).

Perfectly hardy.

Planting and care

Plant the base of the bulb 15 cm (6in) to 20 cm (8in) deep, spaced 40 cm (16in) to 50 cm (20in) apart in well-drained soil. In regions with harsh winters, it will be necessary to protect the bulbs from freezing temperatures with a layer of leaves or straw. In a warm and cool exposure, it will take root and be able to flower within two to three years. Trim the leaves after the first frost.
