Planting and care

Rich humus soil is moist to damp, without limestone, and in partial shade. In rich humus soil, begonias self-seed, with seeds or small bulbils developing in the axils of the leaves and producing flowering plants the following year. Rich humus soil, moist to damp, without limestone. Numerous spontaneous sowings. In cold regions, cover the stumps with a thick layer of dead leaves. The foliage disappears in winter, and only the small underground bulbs remain. It reappears late in spring.
