Description

Roscoea purpurea Cinnamon Stick is a very unique variety with pale pink flowers carried on thin cinnamon-brown stems, reaching a height of 50cm (20in).

Originating from the mountains of Asia, Roscoea purpurea is a very hardy plant, belonging to the ginger family.

From its fleshy stump, strong tubular, cinnamon-brown stems with grass-like, dark green leaves emerge in spring. In late summer, the 'Cinnamon Stick' Roscoea bears very pale pink, tubular flowers, flared at the end, resembling miniature orchids, clustered in dense spikes on its stem tips.

Roscoea purpurea 'Cinnamon Stick' is easy to grow and enjoys partial shade, rich humus soil, and moist conditions. Plant it alongside rodgersias, cimicifugas, and hostas.
