Thanks to Hannah for the order preparation and quality control, and to P.B from the shipping department. The 100 bulbs I received appear to be healthy. Now that they have been planted, I am eagerly awaiting their spring growth... or not?

Description

Triteleia 'Corrina', produces in early summer, a swarm of small star-shaped flowers of a beautiful deep violet-blue.

Triteleia 'Corrina' blooms from June to July, depending on the regions. It produces short inflorescences in umbels 20-25cm (8-10in) tall, at the end of which open up beautiful upright bell-shaped flowers, of a magnificent deep violet-blue.

Small bulbous plants, native to the western United States, Triteliea, formerly called Brodiaea, belong to the garlic family. They produce in spring a mass of slender leaves and wither just before flowering. From the end of spring, or early summer depending on the varieties, short and slender umbel inflorescences emerge from the ground. They bear beautiful graphic funnel-shaped flowers, in blue, white, yellow or pink.

Fairly hardy, -10°C (14°F) in well-drained soil, grow it in the sun (in semi-shade in hot regions), in a rockery, or at the edge of a dry garden alongside catmints, Stipa and Pennisetums.

Planting and care

Very hardy, Triteleia 'Corrina' doesn't like too much competition, so prefer a clear, sunny and sheltered spot for it. It likes well-drained, rocky or sandy soils, moist in spring, dry in summer; don't hesitate to plant it directly in pure sand, its hardiness will be even better.
