Description

The Semensol Summer Mix allows you to cover the soil and limit the appearance of weeds while providing natural fertiliser for the vegetable garden. It promotes the formation of humus and naturally enriches the soil with organic plant matter while reducing the growth of weeds. It helps soil preparation, prevents it from remaining bare, and protects it from bad weather. This product is suitable for organic farming. It can be sown between two rows of crops when the vegetable garden is in full swing or sown on an unused plot.

The Semensol Summer Mix is composed of mustard, buckwheat, phacelia, and wild oats. The optimal sowing period is in spring. Its main advantage is enriching the soil. It is thus called a green manure. These fertilisers help retain the soil's richness by providing it with organic matter, while also preventing weeds. This mix helps combat soil erosion.

The box of mix holds 500 g of seeds, which can cover an area of 100 m². It is recommended to shred the vegetation before burying it in autumn. Sown between two crops, it naturally feeds the vegetables by providing organic matter that will transform into humus and fertiliser. Sow it on bare plots or between rows of vegetables, on cultivated soil, and it will quickly provide an effective cover over large areas.

Green manures are often used in organically cultivated gardens and have many advantages. They nourish and improve the soil by providing various nutrients and stimulating the soil's microbial life. Their roots will loosen, break up, and aerate the soil. The vegetative cover protects the soil from leaching (nutrient loss in sandy soil), rain compaction (formation of a crust in loamy soil), and erosion (caused by runoff in case of heavy rain on sloping terrain) and helps limit weed growth. Finally, green fertilisers are often nectar-rich and attract pollinators.
