Organic farming
These 25 x 10 cm (4in) water-resistant sticky traps are effective in combating carrot flies, parsley flies, celery flies, parsnip flies, and other plants from the apiaceae family, which are attracted to the orange color of the plates and trapped by the glue. They should be hung near the vegetable plants to be protected, at a rate of 1 trap per 10 to 50 m². Sold in packs of 10.

These orange adhesive plates are an effective and environmentally friendly solution to combat flies that ravage carrot, parsley, celery, parsnip, and other vegetable plants from the apiaceae family. Adults are attracted to the orange color of the plates and are trapped by the adhesive. These are referred to as chromatic traps. The grid pattern on the plates allows for identification, counting, and monitoring of the populations present in the crops, as well as checking the effectiveness of the device. The traps should be hung near the plants to be protected. Sold in packs of 10.

Dimensions: 25 cm (10in) wide by 10 cm (4in) high.

Protection against diseases and insects that harm crops often relies on prevention. Glue-based chromatic traps are environmentally friendly devices, free of pesticides, which act purely mechanically by trapping flying insects that lay eggs in the roots, fruits, or under the leaves of plants. These traps, orange in color, emit specific light frequencies that attract specific pests, such as the carrot fly.

Usage: From spring to summer on susceptible crops.

  • To release the sticky surfaces, remove the protective paper from each side of the plate.
  • Hang the plate on a support near the plants to be protected or suspend it with string on stakes at a height of 1.5 m (5ft).
  • Use 1 trap for every 10 to 50 m².
  • Set up the trap in spring, preferably just before the appearance of the first flies.
  • Change the trap when it becomes dirty, as it will no longer be able to capture insects.
  • The plates are water-resistant and biodegradable, and can be composted after use.

Storage:
The plates should be kept in their original packaging, in a cool and dry place.
