The Rosier 'Bobino' is a modern hybrid tea rose from the 'Les Années Folles' series developed by the German rose breeder Tantau. Dedicated to the mythical venue of the Parisian Music-Hall, this variety produces large roses of rare elegance. The flowering, which lasts from June to September, takes the form of double flowers, in the English or old-fashioned style, with a porcelain pink colour and a pleasant fruity fragrance. Of medium size, this dense and vigorous bush is well suited for the back of perennial borders and will easily fit into a rose-themed bed or a small flowering hedge. It is highly disease-resistant and requires little maintenance.
'Bobino' or 'Tan04608' is a modern shrub rose related to hybrid tea roses. With a bushy and dense habit, it produces numerous shoots from the base and reaches a height of about 90 cm (35in) and a spread of 70 cm (28in) at maturity, with rapid growth. It has strong branches with prickles, carrying elegant, dark green and glossy foliage resistant to common rose diseases when grown under suitable conditions. It blooms throughout the summer if faded flowers are removed and the soil remains slightly moist. Its large flowers, composed of over 70 to 80 petals, measure 8 to 10 cm (3 to 4in) in diameter. They have deep cupped shapes and are organized in quarters. The colour is a very bright shade of pink, warmer towards the centre and pale on the outer petals. The flowers are solitary or grouped in small clusters of 2 or 3 at the end of long shoots or arising from 2-year-old stems. It is a hardy deciduous shrub, with the foliage falling in autumn.
This Rosier 'Bobino', with its nostalgic and abundant flowers, deserves a prominent place near the house. Of medium size and well-branched, it is ideal for planting as a small hedge or in groups of 3 plants. It blends well in shrub borders with summer or autumn flowering plants or mixed with light perennials such as asters, paniculate phlox, or tall pink or white foxgloves. It can be nicely showcased in front of a boxwood hedge or, on the contrary, surrounded by a miniature hedge or a carefully designed maze, as in Italian or French gardens. Above all, it is a generous rose, which can be paired, for example, with a white double-flowered clematis (Clematis Maria Skłodowska Curie).

Botanical data
If you want to plant your 'Bobino' rose, you should first prepare the soil by working it to a depth of 25 cm (10 inches) and adding blood, fish and bone. Then, remove the plant from its pot and position it in the soil, covering the top of the root ball with 3 cm (1 inch) of soil. Fill in the hole and water generously to remove any air pockets. To help the roots grow, water regularly for a few weeks during dry weather. Also, be sure to use special rose fertilisers to encourage flowering. For the best results, plant in a sunny location or partial shade in very hot regions.
Roses may develop unsightly spots at the end of summer, but this is a natural occurrence and doesn't harm the rose's growth.

Hardiness is the lowest winter temperature a plant can endure without suffering serious damage or even dying. However, hardiness is affected by location (a sheltered area, such as a patio), protection (winter cover) and soil type (hardiness is improved by well-drained soil).
